Paint August Yellow
Join us to Paint August Yellow and help raise awareness and funds for the 1 in 3 New Zealanders who will receive a cancer diagnosis during their lifetime.
The money you raise stays in your community and helps us work to reduce the risk of cancer through health promotion initiatives (such as our Sunsmart Schools programme), to provide practical support and care for those families who need our support, and to help fund ground-breaking cancer research to create a future with less cancer for our children.
Throughout August we are encouraging, business, school and individuals to Paint August Yellow. There are so many opportunities to raise awareness and raise funds for the Cancer Society Otago & Southland Division:
- Host a yellow day
- Hold a bake sale
- Host a morning tea
How to set up an event.
SCHOOLS - Register your event by email atThis will create a fundraising page for your event – set it up with a photo and description of your Yellow Day. Once you’ve registered, a Cancer Society Community Fundraiser will be in touch soon to support you.
INDIVIDUALS & BUSINESSES - Register your event online and follow the instructions to create a fundraising page for your event.
Plan out your fundraiser. This will depend on the type of fundraiser you decide to run. For a morning tea you will need to plan the food, venue and refreshments. For a Yellow Hat day at work all you need is a jar to collect your colleagues donations.
Click here to access all the promotional materials you need for your event. From invites to bunting to poster templates, everything you need can be found on our Daffodil Day website.
Once your awesome fundraiser is complete, you will need to deposit all money raised into the Cancer Society Otago & Southland bank account. Email us to advise how much was raised and we will send you through our full details on how and where to deposit the funds.
