The Cancer Society, Otago and Southland Division is looking for two exceptional people to join our Community Support team in Central Otago/Queenstown Lakes, helping us expand our presence in the region.

In this role, you will provide practical and emotional support to individuals and families affected by cancer, delivering information and help as they navigate the health system. Your excellent interpersonal skills will enable you to liaise with effectively with local service providers and coordinate local volunteers to wrap support around clients in the area. As the person on the ground, you will also be the face of the Cancer Society in the community, and will be involved in other Cancer Society events, including Daffodil Day and Relay for Life.

To be successful in this role, you will be a health care professional with at least four years’ experience, with well-developed needs assessment skills. You will thrive on working autonomously and will be strongly self-directed. An understanding of the impact of cancer on individuals, family/whanau and the wider community would be an asset. You will have well-developed computer skills and a clean and current drivers licence.

Community Support, Wanaka - 16 hours per week in Wanaka.
